Example Configurations with Benchmarks

The following is an example of a set configuration with specific benchmarks set:

Host Platform: Dell R7910 (Xeon Haswell E5-2637v3 3.5 GHz) Windows 10

Hypervisor: VMware ESXi 6.7

Virtual Machine: Windows 10, 8 GB RAM

Graphics: NVIDIA M60, GRID 8.0

Network: 1 Gbps LAN

Client Endpoint: Asus VivoMini VC66C, Windows 10

Display: 4K/UHD 3840 x 2160

PCoIP Agent: Version 19.08

PCoIP Client: Version 19.08

Video Content: Big Buck Bunny 1080p 24fps (Opening Scene)

Network Bandwidth Consumption

The network bandwidth used in conjunction with PCoIP Ultra AVX2 CPU optimizations are dependent on the configured image quality and size of the video display surface. The table below shows the average bandwidth consumption (in Mbps) for the opening scene of Big Buck Bunny at native 1080p resolution and 1080p upscaled to full-screen (4K/UHD) playback at PCoIP Maximum Initial Image Quality settings of Q70 – Q100.

Q70 Q80* Q90 Q100
Native 1080p Playback 16 27 40 61
4K/UHD Playback 27 47 68 107

*Q80 is the default

On constrained networks, the PCoIP protocol dynamically adjusts to the available network bandwidth. In cases where bandwidth needs to be proactively constrained, refer to PCoIP settings section for policies that enforce bandwidth and/or frame rate limits.

Host CPU Utilization

The table below shows host virtual machine average CPU utilization as measured by the VMware ESXi Performance Monitor at default image quality settings for various virtual machine pCPU core allocations.

2 pCPU 4 pCPU 6 pCPU 8 pCPU
Native 1080p Playback 20% 12% 6% 5%
4K/UHD Playback 41% 24% 12% 8%
